The Philosophy Behind Waldorf Schooling

Waldorf education was founded in 1919 in Germany by the Austrian philosopher and educator Rudolf Steiner. Steiner developed an approach to education based on an understanding of human development, integrating academic learning with the arts, practical activity, and social responsibility.

Today, Waldorf education is practised in schools and early childhood settings in over 80 countries. It offers a holistic approach that nurtures thinking and creativity in young minds.

The Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework

The Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework (ASCF) provides the educational foundation for Steiner and Waldorf schools across Australia. It is nationally recognised and aligns with the Australian Curriculum.
